Fostering Success: Loosening the Leash
COMING ON August 2nd!
We’re proud to host a presentation with KiKi Yablon, faculty for the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior.
Loosening the Leash: Key Dog and Handler Skills for More Pleasant Walks
Dog trainers and guardians have learned a lot in recent years about the benefits of letting dogs sniff and control their own bodies, and so many of us are no longer looking for the bulk of our walks to be a brisk, attentive trot right by our side.
But with “looser” walking comes the need for a variety of additional skills for both dog and handler. Kiki will talk about how to identify what skills might be missing pieces on both ends of the leash, and teach some pieces that she often finds to be critical.
*Proceeds will be donated to DuPage County Animal Services to support the positive work they do in the rescue community.
